Food journals
Last week for homework P3/4/5 and Mrs. Scroggie had to keep a food journal detailing the food we ate each day. We then discussed and compared our journals and whether we were surprised by anything. Next we categorised each of our food items according to the food group it belongs to- Carbohydrates, protein, dairy, fats/sugars, fruit and vegetables. This was an interesting activity as it allowed us to see which groups we weren't eating enough of and which group we were eating too much of. There was great discussion and reflection among the children and let's just say Mrs. Scroggie has been eating a lot more fruit and vegetables this week!
