A Winter Eco Day
Today the foundation stage classroom had a real festive treat for our little outdoor friends. Liz came to visit us with a wealth of knowledge, resources and activities to help us keep the little birds in our garden happy during the winter months.
We listened to some beautiful stories about Robins, Christmas trees and encouraging wildlife into our gardens. This led to us becoming little squirrels and hiding acorns around the school grounds to find at the end of the day. Well done to everyone who remembered were they had hidden their acorn, being a squirrel in hard work!
We were then able to make bird food and decorate our school Christmas tree with what we had made. Even the robins came to visit, I wonder if you can find him? At the end of the day we used some outdoor resources to weave Christmas trees which smelt just like Christmas.
Everyone had a wonderful day and enjoyed learning so much about birds, their habitats and what we have in our school garden. Thank you Liz or teaching us how to look after them.
